Speckled Trout

(Salvelinus Fontinacis) “Char-Living in Springs”

Brook Char, Quebec Red, Brookie. By any name, arguably the most beautiful fish that swims. Painted green, orange and blue spots are accentuated by the brilliant red belly that flashes in the swirling pools of the rivers and streams of the north. The streamlined body generates tremendous striking speeds as it darts effortlessly in and out of the swift moving water in search of prey.

Speckled Trout, the champions of the rapids, rely on heightened senses of sight and scent to survive. Fly-fishing or conventional light tackle produce equal levels of angling success. Like many predator game fish, the Speckled Trout displays enhanced sensitivity to movement, color and environmental changes in their domain.
